State Materials Engineer honored

Mississippi Department of Transportation  State Materials Engineer Mike Sullivan (right) was recently awarded the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials 25-Year Award of Meritorious Service. The award is given to transportation employees having accrued 25 years of service with one or more AASHTO member departments and who have attained the grade of District Engineer, Assistant Central Office Division Head, Bureau Chief or higher. With Sullivan is MDOT Executive Director Melinda McGrath.

Poultry farmers lose more than one million birds to storms

ACROSS MISSISSIPPI — Poultry growers are reeling from the April 28 tornadoes that caused tremendous damage on farms and the loss of more than a million birds in four Mississippi counties.
