Organizers choose Clarksdale for R&B hall of fame

CLARKSDALE — The Official Rhythm and Blues Music Hall of Fame will be in Clarksdale, says founder and CEO LaMont Robinson. Freeman donates big to pro-Obama group

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Mississippi native Morgan Freeman recently donated $1 million to Priorities USA Action, a pro-Obama political action committee or “super PAC.” The Oscar-winning actor is currently starring in his third Batman movie, “The Dark Knight Rises.” Freeman spoke with MBJ-TV in 2011 about his support for then Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill Luckett.
