Telemarketer's appeal fails, will serve prison term

JACKSON — A federal appeals panel has upheld the conviction of Timothy Allen for his role in a telemarketing scheme that prosecutors said targeted seniors. Allen was convicted of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in 2012. He was sentenced to more than seven years in prison with four years’ supervised release.
