Deer Creek restocked with fish

LELAND — State wildlife officials have restocked Deer Creek near Leland with bluegill fish. Mary L. Pippins has been appointed warden of the regional jail in Washington County. Pippins takes over from sheriff’s department Maj. Percy Miles, who was named interim warden in September. Voters to decide hotel tax to fund sportsplex

GREENVILLE — Washington County voters will be asked Nov. 2 to approve a 2 percent tax on hotels and motels to support construction of a multipurpose sports complex.
