Wildfire burns 850 acres on the Coast

JACKSON COUNTY — Arson or carelessness started a fire that burned about 850 acres in Jackson County, according to the Mississippi Forestry Commission. Drought forces extension of burn bans

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI — Supervisors in several South Mississippi counties have voted to extend burn bans that were put in place two weeks ago because of drought.
