Business leaders want tax, crime and education issues addressed

Taxes, crime and education are top priorities discussed by local business leaders as issues for candidates in the Fourth District Congressional race.

Jackson tax attorney and Republican nominee Delbert Hosemann faces Democratic political veteran and Southern District Transportation Commissioner Ronnie Shows of Bassfield for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in November elections.

A challenge for the newly elected official will be juggling urban and rural-related issues in the 15-county district while training on the job as a freshman legislator, said Mark Diorin, owner of Diorin Companies in Madison.
