The arrival of MCI WorldCom, delivered last week by final regulatory approval from the Federal Communications Commission, has been heralded as a milestone in the rapidly evolving global telecommunications game.
The $37-billion merger has been in the works for about a year and with its completion, Clinton-based WorldCom and Washington, D.C.-based MCI have, indeed, launched a new paradigm in how businesses and individuals are connected, share information and move down the golden road of technological enlightenment.
