NMIDA announces industry of the year at annual meeting

Starkville – The North Mississippi Industrial Development Association’s Annual Membership Meeting in late October confirmed that NMIDA is indeed “…a solid organization that will be even more valuable in the future,” said Tom Underwood, new president of the organization. The meeting was held at the Colvard Union at Mississippi State University.

Prior to the official ceremony and dinner, conversation among the 250 or so attendees was that the future looks brighter than ever for economic development in northeast Mississippi, and NMIDA plays a viable role. Mississippi is now the country’s number one manufacturer and distributor of upholstered furniture, thanks to the companies…
