The Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning and the State Board for Community and Junior Colleges will host Creating Futures through Technology Feb. 9-10 at the Hilton on County Line Road in Jackson. The conference will focus on distance learning and online education in Mississippi.
“Today’s classroom is changing and advanced technology is a big part of the classroom’s future,” said Dr. Thomas Layzell, commissioner of higher education in the state.
Last year’s conference drew more than 250 faculty from Mississippi’s community colleges and four-year universities.
“I’m excited about this opportunity for the faculty and staff of Mississippi community colleges and universities to work together to find out more about what technology means in education today,” said Dr. Olon Ray, executive director of the state board.
