Luckett establishes PAC

CLARKSDALE — Attorney and businessman Bill Luckett has formed the political action committee Progress for Mississippi.

Luckett said, “By establishing this committee, we intend to explore all options available to secure the election of a Democratic governor in the State of Mississippi. With the current leadership being barred by term limits, we feel that a strong Democratic contender holding proper views on these topics will help us take back the governor’s office. More importantly, though, our efforts transcend any sort of party lines and will be aimed at helping all Mississippians during these challenging times.

Progress for Mississippi is based in Clarksdale but has volunteer board members drawn from across the state. Luckett said the newly formed organization is soliciting input from the public at large and will hold town hall meetings and gather data from a diverse cross-section in focus group settings.
