PSC fines out-of-state telemarketers

JACKSON — The Mississippi Public Service Commission (PSC) has fined two out-of-state telemarketers a total of $20,000 for failing to comply with the commission’s rules related to the No-Call law.

According to Northern District commissioner Brandon Presley, the two companies, Auticall of Ladera Ranch, Calif., and DNCE, LLC, of Irving, Texas, failed to provide the PSC with a listing of all the telephone numbers each company uses to make telemarketing calls into Mississippi. Also, company representatives failed to sign sworn statements that they would not alter or block their number when calling Mississippians.

Presley noted that both companies were registered with the PSC and had provided the commission with a $50,000 surety bond. The fines will be deducted from the surety bonds.
