HCC signs agreement with Louisiana-Monroe

RAYMOND — Graduates of Mississippi’s largest community college can now get a bachelor’s degree in two years from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM).

ULM president James Cofer and Hinds Community College (HCC) president Clyde Muse signed the agreement March 30.

It lets students with associate’s degrees from HCC transfer into one of 11 programs at ULM. Three are online — criminal justice and general studies with a concentration in either business or social science. The others are biology, chemistry, communication studies, history, mathematics, political science, psychology and sociology.

There is also a transfer guide for ULM’s dental hygiene program.

ULM has similar agreements with Delta Community College, Dallas Community College District and Bossier Parish Community College.
