IUKA — Dennen Steel Corp. of Grand Rapids, Mich., will locate a manufacturing plant at the Yellow Creek Port in Iuka.

Company chairman Andrew Dennen and state officials made the announcement yesterday.

Dennen says project will cost $7.4 million and will create 50 new jobs in Tishomingo County in Northeast Mississippi.

He says the company will manufacture steel slit coil, precision stampings, fabricated metal parts and tooling and assemblies.

The state and local governments will provide assistance for infrastructure improvements at the site of the Dennen’s new 50,000-square-foot facility. Assistance also came from the Appalachian Regional Commission and Tennessee Valley Authority.
