Lewis returns to MTA as investment manager

Mississippi Technology Alliance (MTA) president and CEO Tony Jeff announced that Clay Lewis has joined the company as investment manager.

Prior to joining MTA, Lewis served as senior technology officer for the Mississippi Development Authority. In this position, he was instrumental in the creation of a number of private/public partnership efforts designed to strengthen the technology business sector in Mississippi. Of particular note, Lewis served as the executive director of the Mississippi Science and Technology Commission, which led to the creation of the Mississippi Technology Alliance, and he served as MTA’s first acting president.

As investment manger, Lewis manages the Mississippi Seed Fund. He also coordinates the Mississippi Angel Network, which connects qualified investors with Mississippi-based start-up technology companies.

Lewis holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Florida.
