Long Beach, Jackson County sign tidelands leases

LONG BEACH and JACKSON COUNTY — Officials in Long Beach and Jackson County have separately approved and authorized Long Beach Mayor Billy Skellie and Jackson County Board president Melvin Harris to sign tidelands leases with the Secretary of State’s Office.

“Long Beach and Jackson County have ensured public access to their harbors for all Coast residents while maintaining local management,” says Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann.

“Harbors are an integral part of the culture of the Coast, and these leases show a joint commitment to maintaining that culture for the next 65 years,” he added.
