Home2 Suites extended stay breaks ground in Ridgeland

Home2 Suites by Hilton broke ground Thursday near the Renaissance at Colony Park shopping area in Ridgeland for the brand’s 13th extended-stay hotel.

The property will be the second Home2 Suites in the Mississippi market, following the D’Iberville hotel that is currently under construction and slated to open in June 2012.

The 4-story, 92-suite hotel to go up at 526 Evergreen St. in Ridgeland is a mid-tier property designed for business travelers and extended-stay guests.

New Vision Ventures is developing the hotel, which will be owned by New Vision Ridgeland Hotel, LCC and managed by New Vision Hotel Management, LCC. The property is scheduled to open in summer 2012.

“The Jackson area will be an excellent location for our next hotel, with a tourism industry driven by such a variety of major businesses, historic landmarks, regional attractions and local institutions,” said Dawn Koenig, vice president of brand performance support for Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites by Hilton.
