Gambrel named Health Link's Tupelo Office Manager of the Year

TUPELO — Caretta Gambrel, office manager for Dermatology Center of North Mississippi, P.A., is the recipient of the 2012 Health Link Tupelo Office Manager of the Year Award.

The award was presented at the 16th annual Health Link Managed Care Conference. The conference was attended by Health Link employers and providers from north Mississippi and northwest Alabama.

Gambrel was selected for the honor because of her professionalism, cooperation, ability to adapt to and accept change, and sense of teamwork with the Health Link staff.

“The Health Link Tupelo Office Manager of the Year Award recognizes a unique profession that must understand the complexities of managed care and apply that knowledge to the overall operation of a provider’s business,” said Rose Mary Harvey, Health Link manager. “The growth and changes in managed care, as well as the yearly changes in coding and government regulations that apply to providers, make an office manager’s position challenging. It is often the office manager who helps develop an atmosphere of care and concern for patients’ well-being and makes them feel at ease when visiting a provider’s office. Caretta is very supportive of Health Link and is faithful in attending the meetings we offer.”

Gambrel has been employed for 14 years by Dermatology Center of North Mississippi, P.A. She worked 10 years as an insurance clerk before being promoted to office manager. She and her husband, Gerald, have two daughters-Tesha, who is a sophomore at the University of Mississippi, and Ashley, a senior at North Pontotoc Attendance Center.

Health Link focuses on employers’ needs and offers a full continuum of managed care programs.
