Fans of Fondren’s food offerings will have to wait until spring for the “Taste of Fondren.”
The Fondren Renaissance Foundation has rescheduled the restaurant cuisine sampling fundraiser for sometime in the spring. The event was to be held Thursday, Oct.11, at Duling Hall, but organizers decided spring would provide an opportunity to increase the variety of food offerings and restaurant participation.
Jim Wilkirson, FRF executive director, says the Foundation wants to provide the biggest impact possible for its arts and education programs, the beneficiary of the event. “We have had several opportunities presented to us to add to this fund raising effort,” he said in a press statement. “
“Those elements have not been finalized. In the fullness of time, the event can be so much more than what we are capable of producing at this date. We regret the delay, but know that, in the long run, the arts, music and – most importantly – the children will receive a greater benefit.”
The Fondren Renaissance Foundation acts as a catalyst for the preservation and revitalization of the greater Fondren community.
