D’IBERVILLE — The city of D’Iberville is clearing the way for another major retail center along Interstate 10 and a casino on Back Bay.
A developer has acquired nearly 80 acres at the I-10 junction with Interstate 110. The homes and businesses there will come down by the end of the year and Mayor Rusty Quave tells The Sun Herald the developer is talking to national retailers about moving there.
Quave says Land Holdings One has bought the homes and lots where the company plans to build a casino on Back Bay east of I-110.
He says the developer has cleared the land and has begun site work for the casino, although the state Gaming Commission must still approve the final plans and finances.
