BAY ST. LOUIS — A bed and breakfast destroyed eight years ago by Hurricane Katrina is about to re-open on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The Sun Herald reports the Bay Town Inn in Bay St. Louis is set to re-open on Sept. 21.
Owner Nikki Moon says the project to bring the Bay Town Inn back had help from a Hancock County Community Development Foundation grant.
Hancock Chamber of Commerce executive director Tish Williams said the funds are a loan forgiveness program funded after Katrina through HUD’s Community Development Block Grant program. Williams said small businesses along the waterfront were able to apply and qualify for the loan forgiveness grant up to $150,000.
