Back-to-back events bring crowds to Bay St. Louis

Bay St. Louis businesses are enjoying back-to-back crowd-generating events this month. First it was the combined Cruisin’ the Coast and Second Saturday celebration Oct. 12. Saturday was the wind up of three days worth of vintage cars parading around to different venues. Restaurants, shops and hotels gave the popular annual event high marks.

Last week, travel writers from all over the country are touring South Mississippi, getting story ideas to write about for various publications.

This weekend is Bay BridgeFest in downtown Bay St. Louis. The festival began in 2007 and crowds have grown over the years. Last year it was named the Mississippi Tourism Association’s large event of the year and won AAA’s Southern Travel Treasure Award.

Headliners this year are The Revivalists and Dumpstaphunk. Other performers include Amanda Shaw, Cedric Burnside, Walter Wolfman Washington and some local favorites.
