JACKSON, Mississippi — Brent Tyler is the new director of operations for the Mississippi Region of HUB International Gulf South, according to a new release from HUB International, a global insurance brokerage that provides property and casualty, life and health, employee benefits, investment and risk management products and services.
Tyler will be in charge of leading the HUB Mississippi management team, focusing on organic growth and acquisitions.
“Brent brings to HUB a set of leadership skills that will enhance our current Mississippi platform. He also brings extensive experience in construction and related industries, and will help ensure HUB Gulf South delivers expert service in meeting the complex and individualized needs of our clients,” said Steven C. Terry, president of HUB Gulf South.
Tyler is licensed in property and casualty insurance and life, health and accident insurance. He is a construction risk and insurance specialist and a certified workers’ compensation underwriter. He has worked as a commercial insurance and surety bond broker in the construction practice of a regional agency since 2003, where his experience included managing contractors’ bond and risk management programs, property and casualty insurance and workers’ compensation.
Tyler holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Risk Management and Insurance from Mississippi State University and serves on the School of Business Young Alumni Advisory Board and Insurance Day Advisory Board. He is active in a number of professional organizations and trade groups, including the International Risk Management Institute, National Association of Surety Bond Producers, Mississippi Associated Builders and Contractors, Associated General Contractors of Mississippi and the Mississippi Road Builders’ Association.
HUB International Gulf South is headquartered in Metairie, La., and employs nearly 250 employees and operates three offices in Mississippi, (including Ridgeland, Oxford and Hattiesburg), five offices in Louisiana and an office in Mobile, Ala.
