Humana representative reacts to health exchange marketplace

Humana logoMitch Lubitz, Media Relations Leader for Humana contacted the Mississippi Business Journal with the following statement about the health exchange. His comments are below:

As you know, the Health Insurance Marketplace opened today and Humana.com has an online listing of our on- and off-exchange individual health insurance plan offerings in Mississippi and the 13 other states where Humana is participating in the state health care exchanges.

Humana is and will continue to be focused on informing, educating and hopefully enrolling uninsured Mississippians in the Health Insurance Marketplace during the six-month open enrollment period. Toward that end, Humana is sponsoring and will have sales representatives at this Friday’s Affordable Care Jubilee , from 1 to 6 p.m., at Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center, 3502 West Northside Drive, in Jackson, MS. The goal of the free event is to educate and assist Mississippians on enrollment in “the marketplace” and will feature Dr. Pamela Roshell, Regional Director of Health and Human Services.

Humana is also one of the supporters and sponsors of Cover Mississippi, a statewide public/private coalition dedicated to providing information and guidance to people in Mississippi about the health care coverage options available to them through the Affordable Care Act, and is sponsoring the Mississippi Nurses Association conference Oct. 24 in Biloxi, where the company will share information and resources to the state’s nurses aimed at helping improve health care and manage chronic health conditions for their patients around the state.
