JACKSON, Mississippi — As an assistant manager at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum & Convention Center Ticket Office, Brian Gregory’s job gave him all the tools he needed to loot ATMs at the center owned by the state.
Authorities allege he employed those tools to the tune of nearly $32,000 – the sum Biloxi police estimate he embezzled from the machines.
Police arrested Gregory Thursday after an investigation that included special agents from the office of State Auditor Stacey Pickering.
Gregory, 33, handled, had keys to, and knew the password and the combinations of the ATMs, Biloxi police and Pickering say.
“This investigation is another example of agencies working together to protect the taxpayers of Mississippi,” Stacey Pickering said.
Biloxi police contacted the State Auditor’s Office in October, 2013 when they became aware of the possible embezzlement.
