Southern Living Magazine has Jackson, Hattiesburg spots among "Best Bars in the South"

The Apothecary at Brent’s Drugs in Jackson is modeled after the illegal speakeasies of the Prohibition Era.

Southern Living Magazine has named its “100 Best Bars in the South” and two Mississippi spots have made the cut.

Southern Living writer Stephanie Grenada chose the speakeasy-themed Apothecary at Brent’s Drugs in Jackson as well as Branch in Hattiesburg.

At The Apothecary in Jackson, Grenada recommends A Doc Noble cocktail, named after a 1960s Brent’s pharmacist, and at Branch in Hattiesburg Grenada encourages readers to try The Necessary Means with rum, citrus, curacao, cinnamon, and Cherry Heering.
