The segment, titled “Down on the Farm,” is a new addition to the series created to promote a better understanding of local foods and the individuals and organizations that provide them.
“This season is jam-packed with exciting, informative episodes,” said Key Ivy, executive producer of the show. “Our new ‘Down on the Farm’ segments will take viewers around the state to visit local farms, dairies, farmers markets plus much more.”
During the segment, viewers will hear Cathead co-founders Richard Patrick and Austin Evans explain the inspiration for their flavors, products, and choice of ingredients when it comes to brewing and selling locally.
“We’re sold in 12 different states, but it always carries back and represents Mississippi,” said Evans of the product. “It’s reflective of our own domain of Mississippi as a state.”
Throughout the season, viewers will once again see Mississippi chef and restaurateur Rob Stinson put a healthier twist on family-friendly classics like chicken nuggets, blackened redfish and pizza. Rebecca Turner, a Mississippi registered dietitian, will give a more in-depth look at nutritional information such as calories, portion control and more.
Viewers can also expect a series of guest co-hosts to join Rob in the kitchen with each episode. Guests such as Grady Champion, Wyatt Waters, and Marshall Ramsey will pop in to tell their story of finding a healthier lifestyle.
