Seems more and more people are discovering the beauty of a ride along the Natchez Trace.
The Natchez Trace Parkway experienced an increase in March recreational visits in 2014 over 2013 figures.
This year, 491,577 people used the Parkway in March, compared to 349, 273 who were counted in 2013.”
Compared to last year, Parkway visitations were also up in January (466,706 compared to 443,307) but down slightly in February (422,365 compared to 422,579).
Total year-to-date visitations this year are 1,380,648, compared to 1,215,159 last year.
Superintendent Mary Risser said these numbers continue to put the Natchez Trace Parkway on track to be among the top 10 most visited National Park Service sites.
