C Spire’s plan of building a high-speed Internet network in selected communities has reached another milestone.
C Spire will hold a news conference tomorrow in Ridgeland when the company will announce the beginning of construction on its ultra-high speed 1 Gig Fiber to the Home initiative.
The announcement is the next step in C Spire’s “Get Fiber First” challenge — a call-to-action for Mississippi cities and towns to rally their residents and showcase their collective desire to bring the technology of tomorrow to their communities today.
Four of the nine cities in the initial phase of the project already have qualified areas for the technology.
Gov. Phil Bryant, Fiber to the Home Council President Heather Burnett Gold, the mayors of Ridgeland, Quitman, Starkville and Horn Lake and a host of other government, business and community leaders and dignitaries will be joining C Spire CEO Hu Meena at the event.
The news conference will begin at 10 a.m. at the Bridgewater Homeowners Association Clubhouse parking lot in Ridgeland.
