VICKSBURG, Mississippi – Jaque Poirier has been named Vice President of Casino Operations at Ameristar Casino Hotel in Vicksburg, casino officials announced today in a news release. Poirier previously was director of casino 0perations at Ameristar in Blackhawk, Col., since 2006.
In his new role, he will oversee operations in table games, slots and the poker room.
“Jaque’s extensive knowledge in the casino industry helps us maintain our ultimate goal of exemplifying excellent guest service to our guests and bringing the latest gaming technology to the area,” said George Stadler, vice president and general manager for Ameristar Vicksburg.
“I am excited about the opportunity to move back south and lead the Vicksburg operations team,” said Poirier. “I look forward to becoming part of the Vicksburg community.”
Before joining Ameristar Blackhawk, Poirier worked at Harrah’s Lake Charles, La., in operations.
Poirier has three sons boys and spends his time off coaching their little league teams and volunteering with their Boy Scout troop. He previously chaired Ameristar’s Workplace Giving, where team members donate to local charities through a companywide campaign and match program.
