HANCOCK COUNTY — The bridge joint repair project of the I-10 bridge over the Pearl River in Hancock County has been delayed, according to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT).
Originally scheduled to begin Oct. 14, it will now commence Oct. 17. MDOT did not give a reason for the delay.
Beginning at 7 p.m. on Oct. 17, there will be one lane of I-10 eastbound and westbound closed until 6 a.m. on Oct. 20. This process will then be repeated the following weekend. Beginning at 7 p.m. on Oct. 24, one westbound and eastbound lane of I-10 will be closed until 6 a.m. on Oct. 27.
Wide loads will be restricted to a maximum width of 11 feet while closures are in place.
MDOT awarded the bridge joint repair project to Key, LLC of Madison for $450,000.
