The USA International Ballet Competition (USA IBC) board of directors has named Mona Nicholas the new executive director for the competition. Nicholas, who joined the USA IBC as deputy director in March 2014, was selected by the board to provide for smooth transition in management with the retirement of longtime executive director, Sue Lobrano, and also will lead financial development.
Nicholas spent 22 years in account management with Siemens Healthcare and has lived in Jackson since earning her degree in business administration from Millsaps College. With a dance background that includes training, performing and teaching, she first attended the USA IBC while in college. Her love of dance and respect for the USA IBC’s importance to Jackson and Mississippi led her to become involved with the competition as a volunteer in 2010. In 2013, she became president of the Friends of the USA IBC as the volunteer group geared up fundraising for the 2014 event.
Nicholas and her husband, Chris, have two daughters and are parishioners of the Cathedral of Saint Peter the Apostle.
