Samantha McCain, public relations and content manager for The Focus Group in South Mississippi, has successfully completed the Accreditation in Public Relations certification.
The APR is granted to candidates who successfully complete a process that includes a portfolio presentation to a Readiness Review Panel and sitting for a computer-based examination. The process aims to improve the practice of public relations by assessing competence in 60 areas of knowledge, skills and abilities associated with the profession.
McCain is one of 38 professionals in Mississippi.
McCain lives in Hattiesburg where she serves on several committees and boards, including the Public Relations Association of Mississippi–Pine Belt Chapter’s Executive Board; Public Relations Association of Mississippi State Board of Directors; Pine Belt Young Professionals Planning Committee; See Spot Run: A Dog Park for Hattiesburg’s Neighborhoods; Historic Hattiesburg Downtown Association Board of Directors; and the Mississippi Run to Remember 5K – a run she created with her sister to remember and honor law enforcement officers across the state.
She has won several state and regional awards for her work in public relations and is a 2013 graduate of Leadership Pine Belt. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in public relations from The University of Southern Mississippi.
