Huntington Ingalls Industries promotes Smith

Dawn Smith has been promoted to director, diversity and inclusion, at Huntington Ingalls Industries. Smith will provide leadership and serve as a resource and subject matter expert on diversity, inclusion and equality issues and initiatives across the HII enterprise.

She will also serve as principal adviser to the senior executive staff, as well as the corporate office Diversity & Inclusion Council.

Since joining the company in 2003, Smith has held several positions, including senior human resources representative, manager, human resources, and manager, Equal Employment Opportunity and diversity. Smith earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from the College of William and Mary.
