TUPELO — The Spring Tupelo Furniture Market starts Thursday, but some transactions have already started as buyers and sellers gather for the 29th consecutive year.
Kevin Seddon, president of the Tupelo Furniture Market, tells the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/1WBhcal) 49 new companies have bought space this year.
The spring market is later than usual. In the past, it was hosted before or during the Presidents Day weekend, a busy time for retailers.
But with Las Vegas moving its furniture market later, Tupelo officials wanted to create a little more separation between the markets.
While furniture is front-and-center stage at this week’s spring market, officials also are putting a little more emphasis on outdoor furnishings.
