Waggoner Engineering has promoted David Williams to director of the engineering firm’s transportation division and William F. (Billy) Waits to director of its Gulf Coast regional office.
Williams, a professional engineer, was most recently a project manager for Waggoner’s transportation division. In his new role, Williams will oversee the business operations of the transportation division at Waggoner. Williams joined Waggoner in 2013, after retiring from the City of Ridgeland, having served as the city engineer for 18 years. He brings more than 27 years of experience in planning, design, construction and maintenance, including work with city and federally funded projects, large and small roadway construction and multi-use recreational trails. He has also been involved in the planning, funding and construction of intelligent traffic signal management systems and many local public agency projects.
Waits, a professional engineer and professional land surveyor, most recently served as senior project manager for Waggoner’s Gulf Coast regional office. In his new role, Waits will be responsible for the business operations of the Gulf Coast office.
He joined Waggoner Engineering in 2013, and brings more than 25 years of experience in the engineering services business to his new position. He previously worked with a variety of major development projects on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and in southern Mississippi, including the Port of Gulfport expansion, downtown Hattiesburg improvements, University of Southern Mississippi pathway work and the LaFont Inn Development in Ocean Springs.
