Dr. Susan Scaggs, a former administrator at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, has been named Phi Theta Kappa’s Vice President of Membership and Student Engagement.
Scaggs will lead and coordinate programs, benefits, marketing and initiatives that promote membership and student engagement. She will also provide leadership for the development of regions, chapters, advisors and members in addition to forwarding the Society’s mission through marketing and communications efforts.
Scaggs previously served as Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston and as Campus Vice President of MGCCC’s Jefferson Davis Campus. She also has experience in administration at Piedmont Community College in North Carolina and Meridian Community College in Mississippi.
She is a recipient of the Coast Young Professionals Forever Young Award and has served on the Statewide Chief Student Affairs Officers Executive Council.
A graduate of Meridian Community College, Scaggs also earned a bachelor’s degree from Salem College, a master’s degree from Stetson University and a Ph.D. in community college leadership from Mississippi State University.
