David W. Miller, CPL, owner and managing member of Miller Land Professionals LLC in Jackson, has been named First Vice President of the American Association of Professional Landmen.

As First Vice President, Miller will lead the American Association of Professional Landmen’s 13,000 members across the U.S. and will be named president of AAPL in June 2017. The Association is composed of seven oil and gas executives and petroleum land experts from across the U.S.

Miller has more than 40 years of energy industry experience and has a long track record of leadership in the landman profession, including serving as president of the Mississippi Association of Petroleum Landmen and being named MAPL Landman of the Year in 2001.

Nationally, Miller is on AAPL’s Financial Advisory Council and Tax Issues Committee as well as on the AAPL Education Foundation board of directors.
