Ocean Springs students benefit from crowdfunding site

OCEAN SPRINGS — Broadcasting students at Ocean Springs High School have been testing new equipment purchased with the help of a crowdfunding website.

The $300 worth of equipment, including tripods with iPhone adapters and microphones, was paid for with help from the DonorsChoose.org site. WLOX-TV reports that the equipment arrived last week and students began testing it Monday.

Donorschoose.org is open to any public school in the country. Over the years in Ocean Springs, 128 teachers in the district have received $180,000 through the site to fund about 280 projects.
