The Thacker Mountain Radio Hour, the Oxford-based music and literature program, has hired Kate Teague as its new Executive Producer/Director. Teague is a 2015 Ole Miss graduate and Mobile, Ala. native.
Teague had served as Interim Director while the Board conducted its search and worked with the show the past two years as a production intern.
She is a local musician, both as a solo artist and as the songwriter/guitarist of the band Reels, and has worked in the music business in Nashville with Vector Management, Rounder Records, and musician Will Kimbrough.
Her Thacker duties will include overseeing the live show, booking guests, organizing road performances and tending to the details of producing 30 live shows a year with a dozen crew members.
The show, which features author readings and musical performances, began its 2017 season on Feb. 2.
