
John Griffith
BancorpSouth Bank announced that it has hired John Griffith as an executive vice president in Hattiesburg. In his new role, Griffith will be responsible for leading the Commercial Banking Group, focusing on owner-operated businesses.
Griffith is a banking industry veteran, spending the past 24 years as a commercial banking executive with a large regional bank and another 10 years as a commercial banker with a community bank based in Meridian, Mississippi.
Griffith earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mississippi State University. He has completed the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University, the American Bankers Association’s National Commercial Lending School and Georgia State University’s leadership development program.
Active in his community, Griffith is an executive board member of the Hattiesburg Area Development Partnership and serves on the University of Southern Mississippi Business Advisory Council. In addition, he has served as past president of YMCA of Hattiesburg, past president of United Way of South Mississippi, past president of Southeast Mississippi Community Investment Corporation and past chairman of the United Way of Southeast Mississippi’s Grand Giver’s Society.
