Mississippi Hospitality & Restaurant Association elects new officers Board of Directors

Pat Fontaine, Executive Director, has announced the election of new officers to its Board of Directors that will serve a two-year term.

“Each member brings vast knowledge and experience to the association. They are tremendous leaders in the industry as well as in their communities. It is an honor to have these gentlemen guide our association. Sincere appreciation goes to the out-going President Denise Yates of Robden Enterprises for her leadership and dedication for the last four years,” said Fontaine.

Cary L. Spence will serve as President. Cary is currently AGM at Trustmark Park Holiday Inn with CDA Hospitality. Spence’s past experiences include Food & Beverage Director of the Double tree in Nashville with Wright Investment Properties as well has General Manager & COO of River Hills Club. Cary incorporated his own consulting company in 2008 to share with others his vast knowledge of the industry. Cary has served MHRA for past four years as Secretary / Treasurer. Spence, a Jackson, MS native is married to Elizabeth Yerger Spence. He is the father of two daughters and five grandchildren. The are members of First Presbyterian Church.

Charles Frazier will serve as Vice-President. Charles is the owner of Weidmann’s Restaurant in Meridian since 2010. Weidmann’s is not only a restaurant / bar but a part of Mississippi history being that is the oldest restaurant in Meridian, a definite Mississippi tradition. His former involvement includes Crescent City Grill in Meridian as General Manager, Maximo’s Italian Grill – NOLA manger, The Original Grisanti’s Memphis TN Manager. Charles graduated from The American School in London and received his BS in Hospitality from UNO in Hospitality & Tourism. He is married to Trish Bryson Frazier and has three children Hannah, Bryson & Jackson.

Steven O’Neil will serve as Secretary/Treasurer. Steven has worked almost every level as of the restaurant business starting as a bus-boy at Copelands to a partner/ General Manager one of Jackson’s top restaurant groups, The Manship and Aplos. His vision and knowledge were recognized by Jackson Free Press as 2015 Best Rising Entrepreneur of the Year. Steven is a Bourbon Steward, a wine sommelier and is a great leader. He served our country in the US Army and returned home to the hospitality and restaurant industry. His past involvement has included Havey’s, Rosey Baby, Bruno’s, The Bulldog, Parlor Market and currently partner in The Manship and Aplos.
