MMA names Renee Johnson director of insurance services

The Mississippi Manufacturers Association has named Renee Johnson Director of Insurance Services. Johnson, who as been with MMA since 2004, replaces Foster Welburn, who retired in December after 23 years with the association.

As Director of Insurance Services, Johnson’s responsibilities will be to oversee the division’s workers’ compensation, multi-state coverages, commercial property, umbrella coverage, loss control and claim services, and auto, products and general liability. She will also continue overseeing sales as a Managing General Agent with Berkley Southeast Insurance Group, maintain relationships with agents and insureds, and manage the association’s member health benefits, which include dental, vision, critical illness, life, accident, cancer, and supplemental health insurance.

Johnson received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi. She also holds a health insurance, and property and casualty insurance agents’ license for the state of Mississippi. Johnson lives in Madison with her husband, Shelby, and four children.
