Pink Palace Family of Museums hires executive director

Memphis Museums, Incorporated has announced the hiring of Kevin Thompson as new Executive Director of the Pink Palace Family of Museums.

Thompson has served as a Board Member for the past seven years and served as an officer for three of those years. He assisted in the development of the current Pink Palace Family of Museums strategic plan, fundraising for the renovation of the planetarium and mansion, and development of many of the current board practices.

Thompson is a graduate of Rhodes College, which is how he discovered his love of Memphis.

Thompson is a resident of Midtown with his husband, Travis, two kids, and two dogs. He enjoys running, biking, surfing and restoring old houses, and is just starting his third renovation in Midtown.

A passion for numbers led Thompson to a 27-year career in finance, where he worked in the bond departments of Ernst & Young LLP, Public Financial Management and Morgan Keegan/Raymond James. Throughout his career, he created new opportunities for these companies, through product development and footprint expansion.
