A second case of a debilitating deer disease has been found in Mississippi. Nation’s largest egg producer buying Texas egg farm

The nation’s largest producer of fresh eggs is buying a Texas egg producer. Cal-Maine Foods of Jackson, Mississippi, announced Wednesday that it would buy Featherland Egg Farms. Featherland has 600,000 egg-laying hens and a feed mill and other facilities near Marion, Texas, outside San Antonio. No price or other terms were announced. Mississippi timber site removed from EPA Superfund list

A Mississippi timber site the U.S. Environmental Protection Service targeted for cleanup nearly two decades ago has been removed from the agency’s Superfund list. The Hattiesburg American reports Davis Timber Co. in Lamar County was targeted for cleanup because of groundwater, soil and sediment contamination by the facility.
