MDMR uses sonar to identify debris in bay

BILOXI — The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources has identified a large piece of concrete near the Biloxi-Ocean Springs bridge after using a sidescan sonar in the area Wednesday. Highway project that included new bridge completed

ELLISVILLE — Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) has opened the Highway 590 Extension Project in Ellisville to traffic. The $12-million highway extension project, awarded to Tanner Construction Company, adds a new route from Highway 590 to Highway 29. Work on the project began in October 2011.  Along with roadway work, the 2.5-mile project included construction of a 2,000-foot bridge.

Commission votes to retain Louisiana firm for bridge inspections

VICKSBURG — A Louisiana company will continue to do annual inspections of the old U.S. 80 Mississippi River bridge in Vicksburg. New flyover bridge nears completion; will open to traffic this week

NATCHEZ — The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) is nearing completion of the Highway 61/Highway 84 Flyover Bridge Project in Natchez. The prime contractor is currently preparing the bridge for painting.
