MDEQ closes beach; lightning could have caused contamination

Dredging for beach restoration forces another beach closure

BAY ST. LOUIS — Dredging for beach restoration has closed a second section of beach at Bay St. Louis. The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality says dredging can release large numbers of bacteria trapped in the floor of Mississippi Sound.
