Top 40 Under 40

One of Mississippi’s most prestigious awards programs is back and taking nominations for the 18th consecutive year. Top 40 Under 40 recognizes the state’s 40 up-and-coming business leaders under the age of 40.

In order to qualify for consideration, individuals must have been born after Dec. 1, 1970, and have lived and worked in Mississippi for at least two years. Nominations should be returned to the Mississippi Business Journal no later than January 1, 2012.

2012 Nomination Form – (closed)

Individuals selected as recipients of the Top 40 Under 40 award will be profiled in a special publication in 2012. A luncheon will be held in their honor.

The Top 40 Under 40 program seeks to identify and recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to Mississippi’s overall economic progress, often working at their own local levels.

Since its inception in 1993, the Top 40 Under 40 program has honored hundreds of Mississippi business leaders who are playing active day-to-day roles in moving the state’s economy well into the 21st century.

However, Top 40 Under 40 is anything but a single-business awards program. Recipients have come from virtually every walk of life.

The key to the program’s success is that individuals are nominated by friends or business associates who best know their professional and civic involvement. All of the Top 40 Under 40 recipients have involvement that go well beyond normal working hours. Their days are extended by a large number of civic and community activities.

Fifty Leading Business Women

2012 Nomination Form for 50 Women

We look for the most powerful, influential women business leaders in Mississippi. As senior decision-makers, this elite group is making a significant impact on the economy of our state.

Much more than an awards program, the 50 Women is a Development and Networking Organization that encompasses training with ongoing opportunities for the inducted women to grow together as business leaders.

The new class attends two days of seminars, networking round table discussions at the Eagle Ridge Conference Center in Raymond, Mississippi on August 17-18, 2011, including an awards luncheon in their honor. They will be honored by the sponsors on Wednesday evening with a champagne and cheese reception, followed by a Girls’ Night Out dinner in a popular area restaurant.

MBJ will feature the contributions of these dynamic women to their companies and their communities in the form of a special color magazine.

Business Woman of the Year

Attended by over 525 statewide business leaders, the Business Woman of the Year luncheon is the culmination of a special project conducted by the Mississippi Business Journal.

The Business Woman of the Year program honors the achievements and contributions of women in business from across the state, and it serves as a follow-up event to the 50 Leading Business Women program held every August.

Ten finalists for Business Woman of the Year are selected from the most recent 50 Women class. The finalists are honored during the luncheon, with the highlight of the day being the naming of the Business Woman of the Year.
